I can't log in to my Windows 10 (local) account - I get the message 'That password is incorrect. Make sure you're using the password for your Microsoft account'.
Jul 31, 2017 I can't log in to my Windows 10 (local) account - I get the message 'That password is incorrect. Make sure you're using the password for your Microsoft account'. I know that this is the correct password, I have clicked reveal password to check it is correct, and that it is not a keyboard issue. Aug 10, 2018 We can’t sign into your account is a Windows 10 notification which appears when you are trying to sign in, but Windows isn’t able to sign into your account. This is usually seen with Microsoft accounts, not the local accounts and it could be down to logging in from a different IP or location.
I know that this is the correct password, I have clicked reveal password to check it is correct, and that it is not a keyboard issue.
I have also used the password successfully to get into my outlook and Microsoft account elsewhere, so it is a local issue with the laptop.
This happened following a period where I hadn't logged into my laptop for a month or two, and I suspect is the result of a Windows 10 update. I've seen this problem mentioned a few times on the community page but with no clear resolution.
I cannot get past the login / logon / sign in page at all. I've tried pressing Esc while the computer boots up but it always goes to the login page, I can't even get to the Windows set up / troubleshoot page.
This is really frustrating and as I know I'm using the correct password, but I have absolutely no way to get into my laptop.
Please can somebody help?
I am unable to access my individual account in Windows 10, which is the only administrator account on the computer (there are 2 other non-admin accounts for other family members). I was trying to come up with a way to make W10 stop at the login screen, rather the automatically open the last account, like W7 did. The only way I found to do this was to put a password on my account, for which I included a PIN. I guess that wouldn't have solved to login screen problem anyway. But soon after doing that, in Settings I selected the option under the password setting to not have it ask me for the password. I can't remember the exact wording of what I clicked. I was hoping to just delete the password completely, but the setting I selected was the only option available.
Can't Log Into Local Account Windows 10
Now on the login screen for my account all that appears below my name is the 'Sign-in' box and no place to enter a PIN. Seems perfect, but when I hit enter or click on Sign-in the screen refreshes to say 'Enter PIN' with an 'OK' button, but no place to enter a PIN. Clicking the OK button just brings me back to this screen. I've tried type my PIN both before and after clicking OK but it doesn't do anything. Is there anything I can do short of reinstalling W10 to be able to regain access to the only admin account on my computer?
